Bajaj Discover

Bajaj Discover Description

Bajaj Discover, a commuter which is one of the largest selling two-wheelers in India. It fills the gap left blank by Pulsar. It has many variants, nevertheless, the Discover 125 has been able to get more sales for its makers. It comes in the 125cc commuter segment and targets the buyers who want both agility and fuel-efficiency at the same time and do not have any. It comes with a special feature, which is its availability in three variants 125 and 125T and 125ST to give the buyers a wide choice. This two-wheeler is powered by a 4 stroke, mono-cylinder engine with a displacement of 124.6cc. The DTS-i and air-cooled engine scoops out a maximum power of 10.8bhp at 8000rpm. The peak torque this engine generates is 10.8Nm at 5500rpm. Such rich power and torque go the back wheel via a belt to a 5 speed gearbox which comes with a gearshift pattern of all gears back. Its fuel-tank capacity is 8 Litres and the mileage of this commuter is, 60-62kmpl in a city and the figure goes up to 70kmpl on highways.

Bajaj Discover 125 comes with a maximum speed of 100kmph and can cover the distance of 0-60kmph in less than 5 seconds. The braking system of the bike comprises 130mm drum at the front and rear. Whereas, for more safety, a 200mm Disc brake at the front is optional. As far as its suspension system is concerned, its front suspension is powered by a telescopic, 130mm fork travel and at the rear it has Nitrox gas filled, 110mm rear wheel travel. The safety is increased as the maker has equipped it with Alluminium Allloy die cast wheels at its both ends with the tyre size of 2.75 x 17'' at the front and 3.00 x 17'' at its rear. On the grounds of design, there are no bigger changes the maker has made in this commuter. There are some parts, which have been modified to give it a modern look, and most of its styling bits have been taken from its younger sibling Discover 100. It features a bikini fairing with dual coloured graphics. There are some attractive lines on its visor as the visor has been restyled. The black coloured rear view mirrors are placed on its handle bar.

Overall, Bajaj Discover 125 is affordable and up for its performance and comfort. The design of the bike is attractive, however, the price for its disc variant is a little higher, and that might distract the customers. The bikes like Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour are its big threats. It comes in three shades and offers two variants and thus, it serves the purpose for what it was launched.
