Bajaj has introduced a new member to its already popular terrain cruiser, avenger series. With Avenger 180 and 200 being the present members, the new entrant is the Bajaj Avenger 220 which is powered with Bajaj’s patented DTS-i engine, which already powers the Bajaj Pulsar 220. The bikes comes with improved specs and design. The ex. showroom price of the bike is Rs. 76,800.

* The optional windshield at the front can be added to create obstruction from winds, making it easy ride at higher speeds.

Bajaj's Avenger series are the most popular cruiser bikes of India. Being successor to Bajaj Avenger 180 and 200, Avenger 220 comes with DTSi engine, the same as in Bajaj Pulsar 220. This is a terrain bike and is equipped with a long handle and a big fuel tank. The design of the bike can fascinate anyone as it has a very classy build and also comes with a windshield in the front. The ride is very comfortable and steady with a low seating. The cruiser gives a mileage of 32-35 kmpL on city roads and will give a better mileage on highways. Fuel tank of the bike is 14 litres big and it with no effort can pass a minimum of 200 km in one go. The motorbike has some color choices to it, like Plasma Blue, Cocktail Wine Red, Mist Grey Silver and Midnight Black, although it looks great in every color available. Avenger takes about 15.8 seconds to reach up to a speed of 100 kmph where the top speed is of 115 kmph. The pickup and acceleration gets better with 219.89cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, DTS-i, air cooled with oil-cooler engine which can attain 17.5 Nm of maximum torque at 7000 rpm and can have a maximum power of 19.03 Ps at 8400rpm. The main feature of a cruiser is its comforting ride and Avenger does not let down in terms of comforting.
 
The dimensions of this cruiser bike are 2195mm x 1070mm x 750mm which has a low ground clearance of 169mm and wheel base of 1475 mm. The bike weighs 154.5 kg, a weight that can be a problem for a rider to handle. Bajaj Avenger 220 is powered by 219.89cc and includes a a 4-stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, DTS-i engine. The tyres in this bike are tube-type unidirectional with dimensions of front is 90/90 x 17” and rear one is 130/90 x 15”. Avenger is gives a steady performance on Indian roads due to its hydraulics. Because of its latest sophisticated technique of suspension, it is quite reliable and grants a smooth and comfortable  ride. As the wheelbase is bigger, this cruiser keeps the ride more comfortable and safer than other bikes. There is a quite risk in braking in this bike as the front tyre is equipped a bit ahead in comparison to other bikes. This, however, does not mean braking system is not good, once the rider is used to it then there will be no obstacle in riding. The braking system is very impressive and on the enhanced suspensions one can easily rely.
