Overall Review

BMW is a German automobile, motorbike and engine producer and has an excellent influence on the people from all over the world. The company manufactures motorcycles under the name of BMW Motorrad. Since ages, the company has been introducing its amazing motorcycle engines that gave the birth to its own motorcycles. There are plenty of bikes produced by BMW Motorrad falling under different categories such as Sports, Tourers, Roadster, Enduro and Urban Mobility. The Sports section includes BMW S 1000RR, it is a sports model specially designed for racing. The machine has an enthralling design and technology incorporated to it. The bike has a powerful 999cc, 4-cylinder engine capable of generating a the topmost power of 193BHP at 13000RPM. Alongside of a sound engine, the vehicle is also designed perfectly. The appearance of the two-wheeler is mesmerizing and totally sporty. The lightweight and the enticing engine makes it run at an unbelievable maximum speed of more than 200kmph. Anti-lock braking system is equipped with the machine to stop its rocket speed in a few seconds. The motorcycle is a captivating machine, once you see it, it owns you. It is not only a bike, it is a superbike. To run this beast, one needs a strong heart to intake the unleashing power erupting from within the machine.

Mileage and Fuel Economy

As the BMW S 1000RR has been loaded with the true racers' heart, it is only made to run faster and not to deliver a competent mileage. The fuel consumption of the racer depends upon, that is, its speed if the bike runs at the constant speed of 90kmph it will burn around 5.7 liters of fuel and cover 100km and if it runs at the constant speed of 120kmph, it will consume 5.9 liters of fuel to cover 100km. The fuel type of the bike is super (premium) unleaded, that is, octane number 95-98 (RON).

Appearance

The appearance of the bike is eye-pleasing, the makers of the bike must have thought a lot to make an appreciable design like this. The front of the bike is sharp and edgy to enhance the aerodynamics of the bike. The headlight of the bike is unique, there are two designs for the same headlight, one is round and other one is the quadrilateral. The tilted windshield at the front decreases the probability of wind blast. The bike has been presented with a lower faring which elongates the rear wheel of the bike and enhances the sportiness of the machine. The fairing has three trim panels which are introduced for the air-cooling of the engine. An outstanding feature of adjusting the foot control as well as clutch levers with hinged brake, which are not easily damaged, are equipped to the bike. The side portion of the bike looks heavy and strong because of the fairing. The swing arm suspension equipped at the back side of the bike gives a nice picture to the bike. The open chain and wider tyre with black alloy wheel maintains the sporty look of the bike and looks muscular from the behind. The muffler of the bike is strong and specially designed, it looks different and is a specialty of the bike. The LED tail light of the bike is one of its kind giving the bike an enthralling view from the back. The small and sharp split seat and the low positioned rider's seat makes the bike more pleasing. The instrumentation done to the bike is very appealing, there is an analogue tachometer alongside of digital speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, fuel gauge and other necessary information. The overall appearance of the bike is splendid.

Comfort is the word for this bike. BMW S 1000RR is blessed with an adjustable foot control making the rider comfortable while riding the bike for long distances. The anti-lock braking system equipped to the bike gives extreme braking experience to the rider and makes the journey safe and smooth. The wider rear tyres gives a nice hold to the tyres on the roads which helps the rider to make sharper turns without any fear of falling.

Engine

BMW S 1000RR has been embedded with a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke in-line, water- or oil-cooled, 4 titanium valves per cylinder, 2 overhead camshafts engine which has the displacement of 999cc. The vigor engine is mated with the six speed manual transmission gearbox and it is straight-toothed. The gearbox is linked with a mechanically controlled anti-hopping clutch being a multiplate clutch in oil bath. The bike has an electronic injection, digital engine electronics with integrated knock control (BMS-KP).

Wheels

BMW S 1000RR has been equipped with aluminum cast wheels in the sporty tyres. The size of the front tyre is 120/70 ZR 17 inches having the installment of 3.50 x 17 inches of rim while the size of the rear tyre is 190/55 ZR 17 inches with the 6.00 x 17 inches of rim. The wheels of the machine are also equipped with the 320mm diameter twin disc brake, 5 meter thick with floating brake calipers and 4 piston fixed calipers at the front and 220mm (dia) single disc brake, 5 meter thick with single piston floating caliper at the rear wheel. There is a further installation of the anti-lock braking system to advance the braking system.

Suspension

The superbike has been planted with the telescopic fork, adjustable suspension at the front and aluminium swing arm, speed adjustable suspension at the rear.
