6 July 2012: Hero Motocorp has produced this bike and has launched it in two variants. At Auto Expo 2012, the company introduced this bike to the people of India. The motorcycle was launched on 6th July 2012 with a slogan Jeet Ki Chingaari. The features of the bike are:

* 125cc ATFT engine giving a bike a splendid power.
* Smart trapezoidal headlight enhancing the looks o the machine.
* Analogue plus digital instrumentation.
* The trendy dual tone rear view mirrors.

Overall Review

In the list of leading motorcycle manufacturers of India, the first name which comes up is Hero MotoCorp. The company has gone through a lot of challenges in the past few years but it is still managing to maintain its class. It has several bikes and scooters in the market of India such as Passion XPRO, Splendor, HF Deluxe, Glamour, Xtreme, Pleasure, Impulse, Maestro, Ignitor, Passion, HF Dawn, Karizma, Achiever and Hunk. The company's biggest rival is its old partner, Honda. The partnership of these two brands made them the best two-wheeler manufacturer of the country. Hero Motocorp Ignitor 125 was launched soon after the separation of Honda Motors from their name. Hero Motocorp seems to be very upset by its old partner as it has launched this bike in the same segment with almost the same looks and styling. The looks of the bike is similar enough to be judged as Honda Stunner. Ignitor has two variants in the market, Ignitor 125 Drum and Ignitor 125. Ignitor 125 Drum lacks a front disc brake and the remaining specifications are the same while Ignitor 125 has been equipped with a disc brake at the front wheel. Ignitor 125 is embedded with a 124.7cc, ATFT, air cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine, OHC engine. The mileage delivery of the bike is good of 55kmpl. The machine is installed with the digital-analog combo meter console, rear swing arm with 3-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers, front 240mm disc brake and maintenance free batter and tubeless tyres. The performance of the bike is credible.

Mileage and Fuel Economy

The company has loaded a powerful engine in this bike and also claims that this machine will deliver around 55km of mileage. The bike can with this report can go at a longest distance of 495km with its full fuel tank of 9 liters. The average of the machine is not so good as Suzuki Slingshot delivers a high class mileage of 69kmpl. Though its acceleration and pick up is much better than the other models in this segment.

Colors

Hero Motocorp Ignitor 125 being a commuter bike sports a very captivating look. Its appearance is not less than a semi-fairing sports bike and the colors making it look more sporty are Sports Red, Vibrant Blue, Pearl White and Panther Black Metallic.

Acceleration and Pick up

The sound ATFT engine installed in the engine makes it run super fast. The engine has great potential, the peak power it can produce is of 11BHP met at the acceleration of 8000RPM and the peak torque it can create is of 11Nm met at the acceleration of 5000RPM. The bike speeds up quickly, the time it takes to climb 0 to 60kmph is not even seven seconds. The top speed mark of the bike is more than 100kmph.

Appearance

Hero Motocorp Ignitor 125 is just like Honda Stunner, the design, the appearance and the sound seems to be the same. Some changes making this bike more stylish than its rival as well as the root, Stunner are new front cowl, visor in black and the specially designed trapezoidal headlight. There are dual colors on the rear view mirrors of the bike as the company is trying to bring a new trend to the market. The split seat as well as the fuel tank of the bike is not different from the one we have seen on the Stunner. Most of the parts of the bike come in black color and the parts are engine, alloy wheels. The individual seat for the pillion rider and the stylishly designed fuel tank has a minor difference from that of Stunner. The tail light of the bike is exact the same of its root. The rider has got an analogue plus digital instrumental console displaying digital speedometer, trip meter and odometer and analogue tachometer and fuel gauge.

Comfort Feature

The wide handlebars given to this Hero MotoCorp Ignitor 125 makes the rider sit comfortably and enhances the quality of the ride. The palm grip of the bike is very soft and smooth keeping the softness of the riders hands intact. The buttons are perfectly positioned and are easy to operate. For the pillion rider, individual seat is given for a better ride. There is also a storage space under the seat of the bike. The maintenance free battery and the tubeless tyre reduces the tension level of the rider while on a journey. The front disc brake is also a comfort feature for the rider as it helps them to reduce the speed of the bike. Suspensions of the machine gives a stable ride.

The dimensions of the bike are suitable for the Indians, the overall length is 2010mm, overall width is 710mm and overall height is 1095mm. The kerb mass carried by the bike is of 129kg. The wheelbase measurement of the machine is 1270mm. The minimum ground clearance possessed by the vehicle is 175mm.

Engine

Hero MotoCorp Ignitor comes powered with an ATFT, air cooled, four stroke, single cylinder, OHC engine with the displacement of 124.7cc. The engine comes linked with a five speed manual transmission gearbox doing one gear down and rest four gear up shift pattern. The gearbox works with the wet multi-plate type clutch. The bore x stroke of the bike is 52.4mm x 57.8mm. The engine has a CV type carburettor.

Wheels

The wheels of the machine are 6 spoke alloy wheels are strong and reliable. The size of these tyres are as follows: front one is 80/100 x 17 - M/C 46 P tubeless and rear one is 100/90 x 17 - M/C 55P tubeless and wide. These wheels are equipped at the 240mm diameter disc brake at the front and 130mm drum brakes at the rear.

The front suspension of the bike equipped at the front is a telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers type and at the rear portion a swing arm with 3 step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers type is equipped.

Handling and Control

Hero MotoCorp Ignitor 125 has a very good handling because of its lightweight. The wide handlebars are makes the bike easy to control. The wider tyres equipped at the rear makes the rider comfortable while taking the sharp turns as they provide a better grip to the vehicle. The front disc brake makes it easy to control the ride at the higher speed.

Hero MotoCorp Ignitor, if seen carefully, is a revamped Honda Stunner. This new bike will come in two variants; out of the two, the base variant, will have front drum brakes, while the top variant will get front disc brake.
