  TVS Motor has finally launched the much-awaited TVS Apache 180 ABS in India, the very first ABS featured bike has been priced at Rs. 78,880. The bike is offered in white colour like Apache RTR 160. Here the ABS system stands for Anti-lock Braking System that is comprised of HECU (Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit) and Independent Wheel Speed Sensors and final result is ultimate braking control and class-leading performance. Interestingly you can also disable the ABS system by using ABS-off switch. Noted that the bike was displayed at Delhi Auto Expo-2010.

TVS Motor Company is the first automobile company to introduce to Indian riders the experience of Anti-locking braking system (ABS) technology. TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS bike carries the ABS system which includes HECU (Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit) and Independent Wheel Speed Sensors to grant the best braking control and heavenly performance. Built with a great power, the bike also features sporty looks. The bike comes with a joint digital analog meter console. The speedometer, odometer, clock, trip meter and fuel gauge are of digital type and tachometer is of analogue type. The suspension system is same as the one present in the original Apache 180. These are front telescopic forks and rear gas filled shockers.

Along with ABS, TVS Apache 180 ABS is also equipped with 270mm disc brake at the front and 200mm disc brake at the rear which is associated with ABS technology. The dimensions of the machine are: 2085mm x 730mm x 1100mm (Lx W x H). The wheelbase of the bike is 1326mm and the ground clearance is 165mm with the kerb weight being 129kg. With the availability of the best braking system, ABS, the handling and controlling is also enhanced. The motorcycle comes fitted with 6-spoke mag alloys and the size of the front wheel is 90/90 x 17 inches while the rear one is 110/80 x 17 inches. The machine comes in two colors, black and white.

TVS Apache 180 ABS comes with a 177.4cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air cooling, SOHC engine which works with 5-speed manual gearbox, having a one down and four up gear shift pattern. The engine generates a maximum net power of 17.03BHP at 8500RPM and a maximum net torque of 15.5Nm at 6500RPM. The machine can turn from speed of 0 to 60kmph in a mere 4.15 seconds which is quite thrilling. The top speed mark of the bike is 124kmph, the bike is surely a great choice for the stunters. TVS Apache 180 ABS can deliver 45kmpl mileage on the highways and 40kmpl on the city roads. For more convenience, the bike comes with tubeless tyres and maintenance free battery. There is a huge 16 litres tank attached to the machine and both the options of kick start as well as self start are provided to the rider.
